Here's what an outdated electrical system looks like when it's time to go. Loose wires running down the exterior, an old meter base that's seen better days, and a setup that was never built to handle a modern home's demands. It's the kind of thing that flies under the radar until the lights start flickering - or worse.

We pulled the old meter and service entrance components and replaced everything with a clean, properly rated 200-amp setup. New meter base, new service entrance cable run through rigid conduit, and a weatherhead that's actually secured the way it should be. The difference in how it's routed and protected alone is worth it.

A 200-amp service upgrade is one of those jobs that changes what your home can actually do. You're no longer tripping breakers when the dryer and microwave run at the same time. You've got headroom for EV chargers, updated HVAC equipment, a home addition - whatever comes next. The old system wasn't built for any of that.

Beyond the capacity, it's a safety issue. Outdated wiring and undersized service panels are a leading cause of residential electrical fires. Getting this handled by a licensed electrician means the work is done to code and inspected - not just patched together. We take the wiring installation and wiring repair side of this seriously because the stakes are real.

Whether your home is still running on an older 100-amp setup or you've been noticing signs that something's off, it's worth having a licensed electrician take a look. Problems like this don't fix themselves, and catching it early is always the better option.
